LUCIAN GEORGESCU - Director/Writer
Lucian Georgescu (born 19 May 1967 in Bucharest, Romania) is a Romanian author and screenwriter who graduated the Letters department of the University of Bucharest (1992) and the Film Studies & Screenwriting department of the Bucharest Theatre and Film Academy (1994).
He belongs to the first generation of post-Revolution filmmakers and was one of the first young Romanian film critics (Noul Cinema – 1992). He's published both individual and joined texts about cinema in Romania, France and UK. He is the author of "On the Road with Jim", an ample study about Jim Jarmusch road movies. Since 1993 he is lecturing in Screenwriting at the Bucharest Film Academy.
His academic activity was – and still is – intertwined to his work as a writer, actor (Keep an Eye on Happiness, 1998 Roxy Films Germania/TVR, directed by Alexandru Maftei) and producer: The Phantom Father, GAV 2011, The Last Transhumance – a feature documentary by Dragoș Lumpan, 2012; Somewhere in Palilula – directed by Silviu Purcărete, Libra Film 2011 (co-producer).
The Phantom Father marks his directorial debut.
Author (based on a story by) - Barry Gifford
Barry Gifford’s novels have been translated into twenty-eight languages. His book Night People was awarded the Premio Brancati in Italy, and he has been the recipient of awards from PEN, the National Endowment for the Arts, the American Library Association, the Writers Guild of America, and the Christopher Isherwood Foundation.
David Lynch’s film Wild at Heart, which was based on Gifford’s novel, won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 1990, and his novel Perdita Durango was made into a feature film by Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia in 1997. Barry Gifford co-wrote with director David Lynch the film Lost Highway(1997); he also co-wrote with director Matt Dillon the film City of Ghosts(2003), as well as the libretto for Ichiro Nodaira’s opera, Madrugada(2005).
Mr. Gifford’s books include The Phantom Father, named a New York Times Notable Book of the Year; Wyoming, named a Los Angeles Times Novel of the Year, and which has been adapted for the stage and film; The Sinaloa Story; The Rooster Trapped in the Reptile Room: A Barry Gifford Reader; Do the Blind Dream?; and The Stars Above Veracruz.
His most recent books are the novels The Imagination of the Heart and Memories from a Sinking Ship. Mr. Gifford’s writings have appeared in Punch, Esquire, Rolling Stone, Sport, the New York Times, El Pais, El Universal, La Repubblica, The New Yorker, Brick, Projections, La Nouvelle Revue Française and many other publications. With over 50 national and international cinema and TV productions on his credit, Joachim von Vietinghoff is one of the most successful producers of new German Cinema. Among numerous national and international awards he received the German Federal Distinguished Service Cross 1st Class in 2001. Since 1972 Joachim von Vietinghoff has had his own production company, has been teaching at the German Film Academy in Berlin and has been a member of the consulting selection committee of the International Berlin Film Festival since 1995.

MUSIC - Johannes Malfatti
Johannes Malfatti is a Berlin-based composer and sound designer. He has studied at the Film- and Television school „Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam, Babelsberg. His work includes composing for film, dance and pop music as well as sound design.
His musical style ranges from experimental electronic music to orchestral arrangments. Films and albums he has worked on have won international awards and nominations at festivals such as Sundance Film Festival, Prix Ars Electronica or the german Grimme Award.
