Lucian Georgescu’s film will be presented at the Berkley Art Museum during an homage to Barry Gifford
The film “The Phantom Father”, directed by Lucian Georgescu, will have its USA, West Coast premiere in the “Behind the Scenes” showcase dedicated to the American writer Barry Gifford. The event will take place in Berkley, California, starting on the 29th of November and lasting until the 8th of December 2012. The event is being organized by The Berkeley Art Museum (BAM) in collaboration with The Pacific Film Archive and San Francisco Film Society.
The Phantom Father, directed by Lucian Georgescu has been selected to participate in the 20th edition of the Raindance Film Festival, the most important independent film festival in Europe. The event will take place in London, between September 26th and October 7th 2012.
Five months after one of Eastern Europe's oldest film festivals closed down after longterm funding was pulled, a new three-day event has been secured in Riga, Latvia.

The Phantom Father, directed by Lucian Georgescu, was selected to compete in the 2012 Palm Beach International Film Festival, Florida (April 12th - 19th). The festival, founded in 1996, is dedicated to sustaining the new generation of filmmakers and recognizing new and original voices in the new world cinematography.
The Phantom Father was selected in the 30th edition of the Uruguay International Film Festival, organized by the Montevideo Cinematheque between March 29th and April 8th 2012.

The Phantom Father was selected in the 15th Annual European Union Film Festival which took place in March in Chicago at the Gene Siskel Film Center, the most important local cinematographic art center.
The Phantom Father, was on tour on two continents during March, being shown at renowned festivals in Africa and Australia, and all around it has been extraordinarily well received.
The Byron Bay International Film Festival hosted the film's absolute Australian premiere on March 7th. Now in its sixth edition, the festival is a young and on the rise cinematographic event which awards local cinematographic excellence and also presents a selection of the best international motion pictures of the year. Audiences in the summer resort near Brisbane, New South Wales have responded very well to the film.
Beverly Hills based sales agent House of Film (www.houseoffilm.com) has picked up Lucian Georgescu's first feature film, Phantom Father produced by GAV. The company is a Tribeca Institute partner, specialized in both traditional and non-traditional distribution and will represent the movie worldwide. It is the first time that a Romanian producer signs directly with a North American ISA.
