OFFICIAL LONDON PREMIERE IN THE COMPETITION OF THE LARGEST EUROPEAN INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL - RAINDANCE FILM FESTIVAL
Lucian Georgescu: “The film will be released in DVD format this winter in the United States of America and in Europe.”
The Phantom Father, directed by Lucian Georgescu has been selected to participate in the 20th edition of the Raindance Film Festival, the most important independent film festival in Europe. The event will take place in London, between September 26th and October 7th 2012.
“
The fact that The Phantom Father will close the anniversary Raindance edition with two weekend projections is an honor for us. We’re talking about a valuable exposure in the industry. The Phantom Father has had an important festival journey, which started a year ago, in Montreal, in a class A event. More selections and major competitions followed on all the continents. And here we are now, in London, at the Raindance, the largest independent film festival in Europe - we’re very proud”, said Lucian Georgescu. “
The film will be released in DVD format this winter, in the United Stated of America and in Europe!”
The film already has a very good preview signed by the film critic Orestes Kouzod: “
Lucian Georgescu’s film-directing debut is a stimulating story /…/ boasts a great script, a funky soundtrack and some impressive cinematography and editing; the director commenting on the aspiration to modernisation as beautiful shots of the Romanian landscape give way to ones of abandoned 70’s era industrial buildings. Georgescu keeps things fresh with amusing dream sequences and direct references to the audience, ensuring an attention-grabbing and highly entertaining, as well as thoroughly intelligent, film.”
The anniversary edition of the Raindance festival includes 105 feature films and over 138 shorts, totaling 64 British premieres, 13 international premieres, 5 European premieres and 24 debuts from 38 countries.
Elliot Grove, the founder of the Raindance Film Festival declares that: “
This year’s collection of outstanding films proves that despite the difficult international economic climate, independent filmmakers continue to amaze, impress and entertain.”
